I'll take a pic of my lower brackets tomorow as to where they are installed. Hopefully it will help you out. Mine has 2 holes, one that isn't threaded and one that is. It fit quite well and only 1 bolt went in. I had to take a drill and make the hole on the passenger side bottom bracket a little lower as it didn't fit exactly but took almost no time. It was off about 1/16". Thats all I had to modify.

Yes mine had two holes too before the skid plate was installed. The top hole is the non threaded one. BUt in order to install the skid plate bracket, a threaded bolts need to put in. Now the top hole is filled, the bull bar bracket with the stick can't fit in.

So i am now debating if I should drill a hole on top of hte bracket and remove the stick out part in order to fit thebolt in.

This is PITA. Basically ths bull bar is not compatible with 06 Skid plate bracket kit.

Those of you with the 06 skid plate bracket installed, Check before you order the bar!!!

Thanks Scott. I'd appreciate photos of how you attached the bracket. I'm not too comfortable drilling a hole in the bottom of the bumper support. Hopefully I just overlooked the correct way to attach the bracket.

Picker, if you don't have the skid plate. You should be fine. NO drilling is needed.

I think there's some confusion to what 4RunnerSE2006 and scott78945 are referring to as the skidplate. I believe you guys each are referring to two different ones. Scott, I think the one you're talking about is the skidplate that goes under the engine and protects the front diff as well. 4RunnerSE2006, I think you're referring to the accessory skidplate which installs directly underneath the bumper.

If I'm correct in understanding the skidplate 4RunnerSE2006 is referencing, then yes both the bullbar and accessory skidplate use the same attachment points from the frame under the truck.

Uneek, I believe you are correct. But I thought he stated his were OEM also. I didn't add any skid plates so I assumed that we were talking about the same thing. But now that I look closer to the picture that you and 4RunnerSE2006 reference to, it does look like the same spot.

OK Guys...Now I need Help on what type of lights we should put on with these ?

Some members with the T&H version said there isn't many lights that will fit in between the bars. I'm think of the Piaa P1. But I'll see how HIDs goes first.

My neighbor came over as he was impressed with the bar when I was installing. He asked me the same quesiton "what type of light are you going to put on it?" I never really thought about it as I was just going to leave it...now I am wondering

No. I did not have to cut anything when the cosmetic skid plate was installed.

The top bracket of the bull bar also fit perfectly.

It is indeed the lower bracket that requires some drilling and rework. End result is that I should have two bolts to secure the bracket to the car. Might be actaully a better solution than the solution offered by Strona.

For those with the 2006 cosmetic Skid Plate bracket kit, don't get this bull bar unless you plan to do some rework.

I pulled off the rubber guards on each side of the truck and two holes on top and bottom of the bumper frame magically appeared!

The hardest part was tightening the bolts in the frame because of the position. I feel much better about having the Bull Bar on the truck now.

Glad I could help! I actually suffered a neck strain trying to get the little plastic nuts out of the lower holes and then cut the hell out of my hand getting the nut and washer onto the one screw as it is right above the skid plate. Lets see some pics now!!

I'm surprised that I didn't cut up my hands removing the plastic clips and tightening the bolts on the BB. I tend to scrape up my hands doing that sort of thing.

I'll post some pics after I can wash the truck. I was going to wash it after I finished installing the upper brackets and barely finished when it started raining.

This was a pretty good weekend. I got the DRL flasher relay installed and installed the Bull Bar.

I believe these are the nerf bars in question as I purchased them from Car-Mic online about a year ago. They may have changed but I am happy with the look.

Called in today. Very friendly and helpful guy, Although he answered the phone saying "Intrigue" which kind of confused me a little, well it turns out "Intrigue" is the name of the online shop and Car-Mic the name of the Retail store, So if when you call, someone answers "Intrigue" you still have the right number! Total cost for mine $146.05. AWESOME DEAL, even saw this on ebay for $330.00. So guys this is amazing, thank you for everyone who worked to get this. Will post pics when its up!
