question to whom already installed this kit, is you afto off feature still working?
i installed cheap kit in my low beams and mu auto off feature stopped working.
heDLIGHTS STAYS ON AFTER CLOSING ALL DOORS AND DOUBLE LOCKING, NOT A BIG DEAL SINCE I ALWAYS SWITCH THEM OFF BUT STILL A PROBLEM, I GUESS 35W LOAD IS NOT ENOUGH.
YESTERDAYSWITCHED BACK TO HALOGENS, ALL WORKS AS IT SHOULD.

exactly!i have to know if this kit works as it should and not like a cheapo from ebay before i spend all that money on it, seems perfectly approperiate question, dont you think?

Please be patient. Once I get my headlights installed payments should start coming in. I know there are members waiting for "results" pics.

I got my kit from TRS and mine works fine. 2 locks and it's off. Just tested

Here is the updated GB PAID list. This is going well so far. Yes this is a pretty major mod for some people so I expected it to take a bit more time. Hopefully we can all be patient so we can make this happen.
I just got notice from UPS that my headlights are "OUR FOR DELIVERY" today. I'm hoping to take on this install as soon as the lights show up. I will be sure to take some before, during and after pics of the install. Hold tight fellas.

I'm still interested in doing this, just might not be in the immediate future. Couple questions.
does this kit include both high and low beam functionality like OEM through the same switch? Does this disable the halogen high beams and make them useless or do they come on as well when the high beams are switched on?
Also, do we have any more info about these ebay headlights? My biggest concern is to do with the quality of the plastic lenses. Plastics like that can look identical but vary quite a bit in their hardness. I dont want cheap ebay lights that are going to chip really easily and scratch from rocks/sand/. Ideally I would like to wait till someone has run them for awhile and then see pics of the lenses. I've bought ebay lights before and been VERY disappointed that after 4 months or so the plastic had been chewed to a haze from sand/road debris...

There are some other threads here that discuss the ebay lights. The most common problem I've read is with small gaps between the lights and the front plastics. Small or not, this would drive me nuts. If I do this, I'd just buy the OEM replacements, retrofit, and sell the ones that came with the 4R.
Thats exactly what I plan to do. Cheapest quote I got from a Toyota dealer is $166 each side for a 2005 4Runner.

Yes. The FX-R projector is bi-xenon. It contains both high and low beam in a single lamp retrofitted in place of the oem low beam lamp..

The 2006 4Runner OEM headlights come with a projector. The projector is obviously for a halogen bulb and not for an HID bulb.
Can you ask TRS (or someone else on here can answer this question) if the kit from him is a straight swap on the 2006 Headlight or will it still require a major install (ie baking the headlights and taking it apart etc)?
You can tell where I'm going with this - the install of the HID kit (HID projector and all) in a non-projector headlight (as on my 2005) is around $300.
However if I buy the headlights for a 2006 4Runner (yes, I know that I will need to change the piece of trim under the headlights), I can avoid the install cost if it is a simple swap of the OEM halogen projector with the HID projector from TRS.

I prefer to send my headlights to the company and have everything installed. What's a reasonable price to pay to have everything needed removed, then put back when it returns?
