find a good dash and bolt it in. Out with the old in with the new its all bolt and unbolt and screws.
Not as easy as it sounds, or at least not for me. In order to remove the pad, you'll need to first remove the cluster cover (five screws and a couple wiring harnesses). But I'm guessing you've done that since you are removing the cluster anyways. Then there are seven screws on the font of the dash pad. (It's been a while but if I remember right it's seven.)
Now there are three points that are still connected to the pad. Three nuts will need to be removed. (Again it's been a while but if i remember right they are 10mm, eh possibly a 12mm)
1. The first and easiest is closer to the end of the pad near the driver's side. It was previously hidden by the cluster package.
2. The next you'll have to get on your back on the passenger's side with a flashlight to find. It shouldn't be totally hidden by the air duct work. I believe the nut was toward the back of the runner in relation to the duct work. It's close to the center of the pad.
3. The third and most frustrating one is behind the register closest to the window on the passenger's side. This will take time and patience. There are four tabs that hold this register in. Two on top and two on bottom. You'll need to take a flat head wrap it in a rag and try to get the clips to 'pop' or disengage. Once that is out, you'll see the final nut sitting there. Pull that one and the pad comes out like butter.
The register can be a PITA if you are trying to keep from breaking/ruining the pad or register. If you are buying both in good condition, I would suggest doing your best to save the register in case there are any issues. Also, go ahead and download the FSM. I believe it's in the body section toward the end of it. There are a couple good pics of the clips on the register so you know what you are feeling for. And the description there is probably much more clear than mine.
