The trip was a lot of fun! We only ended up having 4 of us, but it was the perfect sized group and I think everyone had a good time. I didn't get a ton of pics, but here are the ones I have.

When would be a good time for y'all to get together again? I'm out of commission for a little bit. On the way home from Edinburg I had a cv joint shatter, so needless to say - I'm in the middle of front axle replacement. Any thoughts on bald mountain trail?

Bummer about the CV man, that sucks! I would be up for another run sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Spring Camping Trip?

Looking to put together a spring camping trip to the GWNF or somewhere close. I have a young child - will be 5 months old in March - so only want to do an overnight trip. I'm rolling on street radials so crazy trails are out of the question, really just looking to do some light trail riding and spend a night under the stars. Anyone else up for it. Dates are wide open as I work random weekends and could always trade with someone else if given enough notice. Sometime in March would be ideal, the idea is to drive out on a Saturday morning, trail ride to a nice camping spot, then drive out Sunday morning and head back home.

I have wanted to do the same thing so you can count me in. There are tons of great camping spots at GWNF and the trails are easy enough to be done with a stock 4Runner so you will be just fine.

In terms of planning, it might be easier if you just pick a weekend and just let others work around it. Keep us posted.

I would love to....but, unfortunately I will be hosting a friend this weekend and my family next weekend so I won't be able to do much of anything until after the new year.

There are some pretty good trails up there, just outside of Bridgewater. If you are interested in directions, shoot me a PM with your email. I will be up there this weekend.

There is a group of us trying to plan a trip for Feb or March. I don't know if we will end up around Harrisonburg or if we will end up around C'ville. And we are still trying to get dates together to maximize the number of people going.

Won't be able to go yet. My 4Runner is still in the shop at Chaos Fab Shop getting much needed upgrades.

As soon as she's back on the road I'm heading for the hills, and will post a thread giving the time, and place to meet up. If you're still interested in going.

Does anybody want to do this again in early spring? I'm new to SOMD and need to stretch my 4Runner's legs a little. It's still basically stock, so this seems to be about my speed.
