Had a bad weekend....

I got in a little over my head this Friday, went wheeling at lunch time near work and got stuck. Then while trying to get it out, it got worse..... I don't know the extent of the damage yet, I am going to dig into it on Monday after work. At this point I am just hoping that it runs and then it will become a full time off road rig.

Don't put any electric power to it, going to have to pull panels, ect, off and dry shit out, especially around passenger kick panel area. Lot of air will help.

Let alone the motor.

Had similar, but not so deep into it as you on my 1st 4r. Too slick to get myself out on my own, tends to suck you in farther.

There was a steep drop off in the creek and it was slick mud, as soon as we pulled it forward (from the first picture) it just went deeper.. and we only had one vehicle for the first hour of attempted recovery.

It will be ok, interior will be stripped out, I will remove all the stuff that isn't necessary for off road use. I realize I have a solid year of work ahead of me, but I wanted to turn it into a trail rig eventually, this is just a year sooner than I wanted to start. (I am trying to stay optimistic..)

Is a nice looking rig, I'm sure it'll be fine. It's a great blank canvas for you to build on, remove all the mushy parts, let everything else dry out and put some 44's on it for next time :

I honestly hope you’re right! I suppose if there wasn’t any power to any computer they might dry out given enough time but...

I did shut it down as soon as the front dipped down in the water, so hopefully when it's all dry and I pull the plugs to crank it over it spits all the water out and is ok... Hopefully....
I am located near Cleveland, OH. So I will have all winter to mess around with it

Well I wish you luck, keep us updated!

Get the plugs out ASAP and turn it over.
Get the water out before it rusts.

The spray WD-40 in the cylinders to get rid of residual water.
Do oil change, diffs, trans, transfer case fluids.

You may get lucky. The faster the better.

Reminds me of the flood cars here in houston after hurricane harvey recently. One guy on a local board had his 4th gen flooded, sold for 1,000 and the new owner got it fired up.

But like the others say, take apart panels, seats, carpet, everything. Put fans and air to it. Sounds like you have a plan.
