Haddix's build thread

I am loving the softopper so far. We had rain for 2 days straight and no water got in the bed at all. I was very surprised. With the 4doors and the addition of the softopper I feel like I have a more utility type of 4runner now. All the room in the cab but I can keep stuff secure in the bed now.

I have also talked to a local fabricator about making me a rear bumper so hopefully that will get going soon. Here is what I'm wanting or something very similar.

Looks good.
What size were your last tires?
What gearing do you have?

Thanks. I was previously running 265/70 toyo's and I have stock 4.10 gearing. I haven't gotten it onto the highway yet but around town and on my way home it seemed just as peppy as before. I am pleasantly surprised.

That is a big step up. You low landers are lucky with that thick air.

After driving around some more today I do notice a little loss in power but it isn't much of a change IMO.
Going to make some frame plates for the rear soon.

I'm already changing rear suspension. I loved the ride of the alcans but not the ride height. After a lot of research I decided on the OME Dakars.

Off topic but I recently adopted a St Bernard mix. My new wheeling buddy, Hank.
