Half of back light out where clock and MPG display is on 03 4runner

Not sure if anyone knows half the display backlight went out where the clock and MPG is on my wifes 03 4 runner any thoughts on how to replace bulb?

The only place I have gone for bulbs is the dealer. Make sure you buy a couple of each kind. They don't cost much. I learned the hard way that it is smart to change all the bulbs at the same time.

you are a smart man that is my same thinking half of them are out anyway so just do them all!

Half the display on my screen was flickering, and last time it was at the dealership I mentioned it and they said the bulb was just a little loose, and they took care of it. If you do need to get to it though, it is really easy!

half on mine was also flickering for the longest time and finally completely didn't light up after a few months. I was wondering why it went out so fast, but haven't gotten around to replacing it. I plan on doing so soon and am wondering how many bulbs there are for that part and what kind of bulbs I need. I guessing 2 but want to be sure b4 I go out and purchase them. Thanks in advance!

Just an update for the guys that are wondering the bulb fixed one button that was out but not the display there must be something else going on there but my wife does not really care, she says it has 140K and if all that is wrong is a bulb out she can live with it works for me!

I believe there are two different types of bulbs that go in the display. You may have replaced one set, but not the other...

I wish I missed a bulb! I changed all the bulbs from the dealers chart so I think I am out of options maybe the connections or board for the display not sure.

Anyone ever wonder why this perticular make and model has so many bulb problems? I never had a car that had the dash lights burn out. I have a 99 Tacoma with 130,000 miles, no dash light problems yet...

Good question and hopefully it got better because we have an 08 also so this could be coming down the line.

Half mine have gone out. Also my 2wd-4wd selector is out and now my ac buttons. I will get them all at once, just lazy right now.
