Halo Projector Headlights

Hi there,

I'm currently looking at ordering some halo projector headlights off streetbeatcustoms.com I was wondering if anyone has dealt with either this website or has installed projectors on their own t4r before? Personally I think they're going to look really good and they're reasonably cheap ($297.99). I'm just not sure beyond that. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

dont do it, its a down grade, and worst than 06+ projectors, just take ur headlights apart and black it out yourself. takes only 15 mins to take one light apart in the oven.

I would be leery of aftermarket headlights. They usually do not perform like OEM. They do not have the same quality standards. They may look good now, but they may fog up, fry up or just burn out. I would say modify the factory lights as others have done. You could take it a step further by wiring up some BMW angel eye rings into the OEM 4Runner housing - those can be had for right around $100.

There is a lengthy thread on this forum about those headlights. They ended up being junk. I think members said that the LEDs burned out pretty quickly, the light output was horrible, and I think they got condensation inside of them too.

I'm pretty sure they went back to their OEM lights too.

first they dont fit 06+ correctly, look at the bottom of the lights, i wouldnt advise getting those either, ur 06 headlights are better & u can just upgrade to better bulbs if ya need more light than stock, if u dont want to bake the lights urself, send them or get an extra set & send em to the member bowtie3 at desertfab. I have them as well, I would have to say the light output is actually not bad, probably comparable to the OEM ones. Word of warning, however, for anyone interested in these:

These aftermarket headlights have bad build quality. After 4 months of owning them, 4 out of 6 led bulbs have burned out, the UV coating is peeling off, and there is heavy amounts of moisture inside the lens when it rains hard, indicating that it is not properly sealed. Also, the clear plastic housing is thinner and of less structural rigidness than OEM.

I still like the looks of the aftermarket ones however, so I would advise anyone interested in these to purchase them, and seal them up good with silicone around the edges and whatnot.

Ebay is also a cheaper way; same aftermarket headlights, cheaper price. I got mine for $175 shipped, both.

Keep the stock headlights and why did you get rid of the stock wheels.

2006+ Headlights are nice...so are the 2006+ 18" Limited Wheels.

I have to lean in this direction. Get your lights done by the member on this board or do them yourself, then get yourself a nice set of HIDs. Money much better spent and you will love the stock projectors with the HIDs.

Junky rice stuff. Get a xenon depot 6000k kit for your projectors and call it good. Great cut-off, no glare, and looks awesome.

I have the 2006+ projectors because it came w/ the vehicle, but if I didn't have it, I wouldn't bother getting them.

Because they are expensive, the projection isnt that great & the beam pattern isn't sharp.

I would do a retrofit. I've done a TSX projector retrofit on a Lexus SC300 before.

And I'm sure you want them to look OEM like nothing was done to it...I'm the exact way!!
