HALP! '92 3.0 might start, won't run!

'92, 3.0, a/t, 4X
My daughter bought this about 4 months ago. Give it a full tune up about 6 weeks ago (sorry, but ya need details, right?) Air filter was filthy, fuel filter was so clogged nothing could get through, all plugs were over gapped and none were the same. I was shocked it was even running. Needless to say, much better! Then last week it started running rough. Maybe 2 days, she kept going :/ then the check light popped on. She kept going another day. Finally it died ends with mom rescuing at 6 am.

It was out of oil. Put some in, nothing changed.
Ran diagnostic, code 25 air/fuel lean.

It might start, run about 10-20 seconds, then dies. Anywhere from 20 min to an hour before it starts again. After it dies, NO FUEL OR FIRE.

Now has new ignitor (tested bad) and MAF.
All wiring coming from the ignition switch reads good.
Jumped fuel pump relay at Fp and +B.


Please help. This is driving me insane. :sadwave:

Did you drop a new fuel filter in when you did a tune up?

Yes. It was so clogged the gas wouldn't drain out of it.

do you smell gas out the tail pipe when you crank? if not the clogged fuel filter may have damaged the fuel pump and you wouldn't get full pressure.
you may also have a clogged fuel injector that will cause it to run lean and would also cause heat soak in the fuel injectors

Would the fuel pump cut the fire too? No offense, but all the sensors and so on is why I still have my old Chevy eace:

:rtfm: get a factory service manual and read it, it will tell you how to fix everything.

don't be mad at the truck for your inability to use a volt meter and actually test the 3 sensors on the truck that could cause a no run problem.
MAF
TPS
IAC

if you test them then you only have a few more problems to test in order to fix the no run
Ignitor
Fuel injectors
ECU
Timing
Spark plugs
Coil
Distributor cap and rotor

hmmm testing those items sounds just like my old chevy tbi truck that didnt run ether when it had a sensor error. who would have thought they had the same systems.
