i used the cutout behind the cup holder, the actual radio is under the drivers seat and i have a speaker velcro'd behind the center console

In the photo you have a tablet mounted. What did you use for the mount and where is it placed?

Fabulous thread! I now have some great ideas!

For those that mounted the Kenwood D710. Are you all using the brackets it came with or custom? I plan on installing it in similar location. Does it interfere when putting in 4-Lo?

Arkon seat mounted arm. Mounted the base on the back of the console. Gonna put the excess cable under the passenger seat.

I used velcro to attach the main unit to the carpet under the front passenger seat. The attached the face plate to the cubby hole with velcro. Ran power directly to the battery. Radio is THT TH-9800, antenna HH-9000, on a Diamond K-400 trunk mount.

This is the exact spot I was thinking for the Yaesu FT-8900R. Looks to be the same size as the THT. How is it working out? Any issues with movement?

e60ral Is your tablet hooked up to your ham radio or independent?

Has anyone been successful in hooking up tablet to HAM radio for APRS usage?
