Ham's 97 Work in Progress

As I said in my intro thread, I bought this 97 on ebay a month ago for a very decent price. It was a PA truck, so I knew it would have minor rust issues, and the seller was very honest about it. The upside was the truck had really been babied, great maintenence record and the TRD SC came with it. I was originially looking for a 99 limited, but I just couldn't pass up this deal.....sooooo...

Here she is fresh off the car hauler

I had been researching third gen mods for over a year, and knew exactly what I wanted to do....while the SS 1.2 kit and URD 7th injector kit was in transit, I found a killer deal on these Tundra calipers and rotors...

SS 1.2 kit arrived, and other than fighting rusty bolts, relatively simple install..

Next up is armor....I had originially ordered a SW front bumper, but I have since found a local fab shop for the sliders, front and rear bumpers, and a roof rack....

Thinking about adding a 1" body lift, so I'll hold off on the bumpers until I make up my mind...

4.88's and a rear locker are also on the list...right now I'm out of $$$

Looking good for sure. Great mountain scenery in the background also. I would be curious to hear what you think of the Treadwrights also after you have put some miles on them.

What size were the original tires? They look so small after the lift

The old tires were completely bald 265's....the Treadwrights fit had some minor rubbing issues (upper A-arm, running boards), but a nip here and a tuck there has everything working properly now...just got back from another trial run, parts of the trail was packed ice, glacier mud and 14" snow....VERY impressed with the Guard Dogs so far...

Thanks for all the kudos!...She'll never be the prettiest truck, but she'll be meaner than a junkyard dog!

With running boards removed...not sure if I like the way I trimmed the flares, but no rubbing at all....BTW, in all of these pics, there is NO wieght in the back...no spare, etc. It makes the "Aussie" rake look more pronounced than it will be when I'm at full kit..
