Handling Issue, defined?

Ever since I got my new to me 4runner the on road handling has always made me a little nervous. :lookout: This is the first true SUV I’ve had; add to that it’s got a 3” toytec suspension lift, 2” body lift, and is running 295/16 BFG’s. Just figured this was part of the deal. When working underneath it the other day I noticed something I’d never seen before; no front sway bar. The funny thing is I’ve been under this rig changing the oil, diff fluid, installing skid plates, even fixed rear sway bar link that was broken. I know people regularly remove the rear sway bar to aid in flex when rock crawling, but why would someone remove the front?

Noticed some companies make sway bar bushings that can be lube with a grease gun. Anyone know what front links will work with a 3” suspension lift?

Aside from adco any other companies or sources I should check for sway bars. Is a front sway bar likely to make a big difference in the way my 4runner feels on road?

I have never driven with one without the front sway bar, but I have heard many people say is definitely makes a difference. brian2sun has taken them off before and notes the looseness in the steering. Putting one back in will solve some of your issues. I would try to just get a stock one for cheap if you can if you are planning on keeping it on.

You get more front flex without the SB and with a 3" lift, you'll probably snap your stock endlinks when you're on the trails. That's probably why the PO took it off.

I put mine back on for DD because it does handle like crap around corners without the front one. I leave the rear off.

Check out WabFab's endlinks (~the same price as stock ones). They are stronger, longer and they disconnect a little faster. Then just get a used SB from a junk yard or someone on here maybe. The handling will improve a lot!

mines disconnected now because i lost a the nut for the drivers side linkage. i just went and bought new nut at lunch because ITS SCARY. i dont recommend for anything over 45 mph. ive driven to work going about 65-70 for a few days and its straight scary.

Yea mine rode like total crap when just the end links were loose so I can't imagine without a bar at all...

front sway bar

Ok, if anyone sees a front laying around, ping me. Scouring the "part out" threads. Any idea what end links work with a 3" suspension lift? I like wabfab's but they are a little pricey for me at this point at $150.

I think 2wd Tundra endlinks are longer and will work. But I'm not sure on the year. Sonoran Steel sells SB drop brackets so that's another option.
