Hankook dynapro atm review/advice for springs

Who here is running the Hankook Dynapro ATMs, and how do you like them? I'm looking into new tires and I like their design with the aggressive sidewalls. They seem to compare well with the Cooper Discoverer AT3s, but I like the looksof them better. Any first hand experience with these? I currently have the bfg at and love them but cannot afford them anymore.

I'm also going to be converting the old used up xreas suspension with Billy's like I've read so much about. I'm wondering about the stock springs and rear air. Should I keep the stock springs or at 165k have they had enough as well? I would like to keep the rear air because it keeps the ride level, and I wouldn't think they can wear out as much as they just fail one day. I like the current look of it with just the 1" leveling kit, and don't want to worry about the other components being over stressed. What springs should I get that are affordable and will go with the Billy's? Are fj springs the only way to go or are there other options?

IMHO the Hankook ATM is fine for dry roads. Once worn slightly their wet weather handling decreases substantially. My father made the mistake of buying those Korean POS tires. At approximately 5k miles he replaced them as the handling in wet conditions was sloppy. He ended up having to use 4wd at the boat ramp to pull his flats boat out (lightweight). Never had the issue before those POS tires.

The coopers at3 get good reviews as do the toyo at2

My choice tire is Goodyear Silent Armor. I bought my 4Runner with a new set of Hankook Dynapros on it so I cant justify spending the money for new tires right now.

Offroad here on Colorado trails they do pretty good. I was actually surprised that they ran as good as the Goodyears.

I have no issues on wet pavement with them

A week ago the roads were all ice and the tires slipped a lot.

Today we have about 4 inches of snow and the tires did fine.

I have 9600 miles on the tires.

When I replace them I will go with Goodyear Silent Armors but I don't think I have anything bad to say about the Hankooks. I hit the trails about every other month or more. The winter weather here can be challenging on driving so good tires are important. If the Hankooks were giving me trouble they would have been gone already.

I have the Hankook for 4 years now. Great tires with no issues. Will be buying another set this summer.

How about the Goodyear All Terrain Adventure? I'm also shopping for a new set for my 08 Urban Runner and I'm set to get these tires since they are phasing out the Silent Armor. Did a lot of research on the web and found a lot of people are happy with them.

+1. I ran these and replaced them at a little over 10k miles because it was extremely dangerous driving in wet weather. Noise increased substantially as well. I've read a lot of great reviews on these, but I'd never run them again personally.

I have over 50k miles on the Hankooks but I will probably replace before next winter. They do OK at everything but don't really standout at anything. I bought these hankooks pretty cheap so I didn't think they would last this long. Unless I get another set dirt cheap I'll probably go with different tires though.

Agreed, I have the Hankook Dynapros as well, they came with the truck when I bought it. They still have decent tread on them but I'm looking to replace them soon before the snowy season really hits. I lose traction on the slightest dampness on the road. I spin tire all the time with just rain, and I have slid in turns a number of times. I would not recommend Hankook given my experience. I should have had my brand new Nitto's transfered over from my 03 Sport when I traded it in, instead of this garbage

I put the ATM's on my wife's runner 7,000 miles ago. she loves them. Quieter and she says it feels more stable than the firestones it came with. I admit to not driving it that much but when I do, I like the feel on the road. I've taken it offroad (gravel, mud and small rocks) once with these tires in northern quebec for a fishing trip and they performed without issue. I'm considering them for my 4runner build as well but probably will go with Duratrac's since I plan to do a lot more offroading with my runner and I don't mind (actually rather like) the road noise.

Thanks for all the responses. Seems like some like them and some don't. If they perform poorly on wet roads then maybe I'll go with the cooper at3s. I've seen many reviews on them and they seem to be good, but so did the hankooks. I guess different strokes for different folks. I'll give an update when I get new tires.

I used these tires for three years / 35K miles. They worked great for me on the road and on trails.
