Absolutely use my words to define my character; I do not not, nor have I ever used racist/hateful epithets to convey my opinions- I simply use a bit of crass language to paint a landscape with words. Purely descriptive in nature to convey my point with veracity in a somewhat comedic fashion.

If you don't think there is a difference between the use of "circle jerk" as an adjective and the use of "fag" as a noun- obviously intended to offend- we can discuss it further.

If Trump called someone, anyone a "fag" would you get over it and move on or post about it as if it was the most egregious thing ever.

America is the last place on the face of the planet that remotely embodies the Rights of the individual, the rest of the world forgot how important this is and moved on to thinking they have transgressed, but still solely rely' on the good ole US of A in one fashion or another.

I don't condone the use of the word 'fag' but that wasn't what my response was about. Let's not move the target here.
My point was that it was being brought up over and over in a way that I felt was being exaggerated and petty. To then go and use a hateful phrase to chastise someone for using a hateful phrase is hypocritical. You made a post specifically requesting others to point out the flaws in your logic, so I did.

If you're going to say that:

You literally created an imaginary scenario, assumed the way others would react and placed various members of this forum on 'teams'. That was after several pages and threads discussing a one word insult between two other members, to me that seems 'extreme'.

Seems it's only me to blame with my hate, everyone else is apparently the bastion of perfect morality and tolerance, whom have never said a racial or sexual slur or repeated a racist joke, even once.

I'll have to stick around as to try and emulate these perfect infallible members behavior as to work on improving my character.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that the gay joke was meant to be ironic and sarcastic, but I must admit that part of me still definitely wonders if he is genuinely so lacking in self awareness that he made a gay joke right after chastising you for using a gay slur.

i will bring it (ndcent's intolerance) to light whenever i see fit, especially if it directly highlights hypocrisy. the simple solution is to refrain from making any morally outraged statement about hate, intolerance, racism, and bigotry, when the "speaker" is guilty of same.

it isn't a personal grudge, or an attempt to "out-PC" someone. as noted above, you shouldn't presume to "speak" for me, because you clearly have no understanding of my worldview, background, or ethos. the disingenuosity is displayed by ndcent, and perhaps you, along with your own "confirmation bias" that won't allow you to understand the hypocrisy.

i lose my temper plenty. but extremely rarely directed at people (and never at "perfect strangers"), it's almost always directed at inanimate things (dumb, sure, but no one gets hurt). i've broken plenty of things because of it, including walls, toilets, windshields, oscillating fans, etc. mostly in my younger days. i did shoot my 2-stroke trash pump with my 1911 a few years ago after trying for several hours to get it to start. again, dumb, but it only hurt my pocketbook, and it sure satisfied the rage. i guess i've also destroyed a few targets in the years with it (the last seven shots during this practice session were lefty [my off hand], rapid-fire, at 25 feet, and in the green):

do you think it matters to me whether you believe me? it surely doesn't. i know i hit intended targets with the 1911, still or moving (ask the red squirrels around the sap house). i still have excellent hand-eye, and excellent vision (20/15), even at 49.


on that same target, i was firing with a ruger sr9, too. but i could not get tight groups at all with it, nor were the groups particularly accurate. also had an ejection failure, where a spent shell got caught in the ejection port, causing a failure to return to battery (and to load another round). i don't trust the ruger at all as a carry piece. the 1911? oh, yeah. every day. but the ruger shall remain a target practice pistol until such time as it demonstrates absolute reliability.

I'm confused. If you weren't offended then how can you use a one word insult to judge a persons character and claim that highlights his "hypocrisy". Either you think he meant it as a homophobic insult or you don't. Either you were offended by the term used or you're creating a lot of unnecessary drama over someone calling you a name months ago.
