Hard Shifting When Cold

The one thing that bothered me from the time I first got my 4runner is the hard shift in the morning. I think it is when it goes from 2nd to 3rd gear, it revs higher than normal then shifts pretty hard.

I just did a drain and fill of my tranny fluid, about 3 quarts with amsoil synthetic. I just purchased a camper and wanted to be safe. It still revs high in the morning that first time, but it doesn't shift hard at all.

So if you don't like it either, might want to get some synthetic tranny fluid. I plan to do a drain and fill at least 1 more time in the near future.

its normal, the tranny is not up to temp, and so it wont shift untill at least 25 or 2600 rpms
