I've always considered it more desirable to buy a truck that has never had the hardtop taken off. Given that it's currently sealing well, I think you'll be fine. If I recall, the only possible leak areas are the slidey windows, and the roof/top intersection. That intersection has bent metal to keep water out, which does a good job.
I have never had a drop of water get through the hard top and find its way inside.
I think you'll be absolutely fine taking the top off, and having a decent seal when it goes back on. Go for it! I'm counting the days to put my KTT bikini on.
Fancy. Lifting that top solo would be impossible. I hate even doing it with only myself and one other. I usually wait til a third person is around to make it easy.
There pictures of your rig around here? We're all nice and community oriented 'round here. Assuming you feel like staying. Most ask a handful of questions and leave.
420th post!
^^^^ agreed stick around awhile oh and:worthless
Hahaha
Oh right! Yours is that one. Like most of them, it's a tasty rig.
I take my top off every year, never had a problem with leaks.
Yeah I figure throw some beers at a couple of my buddies and it shouldn't be a problem. Just trying to figure out some of way of storing it. Probably the roof of the carport with some bars and ratchet straps.
