Thanks for the testimonial on C & C, Harkco. They will be installing the "new version" of the 5100's on my '14 Trail in the morning. Looking forward to reduced nose dive and a level stance!

You're more than welcome. I'm sure everything will go great. It's hard to put a price on an honest mechanic that does great work. Out of all the shops I visited, they were the first and only one that took the time to discuss how I wanted my vehicle to look and ride after the installation. He even delayed his vacation a bit to finish my install. Let me know how it goes.

Finally got my Icon kit installed. I am extremely happy with how everything turned out!

I remember my kids both had to have mittens on all the time or they would scratch the heck out of themselves and then make themselves cry.

How do you like your ICON lift? What stage did you get? What made you decide on ICON and the stage? How does your MG Trail ride? Obviously, better than stock, but does feel harsh on road? smooth? bouncy? firm? I am considering the ICON lift and I have read various results....from the best ride/lift ever to a very harsh ride. I notice (or looks like in pictures) your truck has a rake to it. This is how you wanted it's stance?

It actually looks fantastic in the 2014's... I think it will look good in my 2010 too, I think the bright green is a little too much of a rice rocket effect... ok end blabber

So far I am liking the Icon kit a lot. I went with the Stage 2 set with the billet UCAs. I would say it is a firm ride with less bounce than stock. As for rake, I wanted to maintain a little bit of the factory stance. In fact I told my installer that I wanted something between factory rake and level - part personal preference, and part because I did not want to be nose high with full cargo or while towing.

I would say it is more of a midnight blue, while the rest of the dash is more light blue. They are very close, however. Also, the switches themselves are pretty easy to take apart. I think it would not be hard at all to solder in a bulb of any color if you wanted to.

Thanks for posting those pics of the rack/ladder combo. I just ordered my GOBI and Ladder, and have a 2014 MG TEP like you, but since I'm deployed it's nice to be able to see what it'll look like when I get it put on!

Nope - it is super easy. There is just enough room to run one 14 gauge wire on each side.

You are going to love it! I was kind of on the fence about installing the ladder, but it looks really good in person. It has a nice subtle contrast with the magnetic gray color.

I don't have any pics handy, but I ran the wires the same as Desert Dawg did in his build thread. You kind of get the idea here....

I ran one wire down the weather stripping of the driver's side window and another down the passenger side - One side was power for the main led bar, and the other side was power for the two rear lights. Then both got grounded at the rear of the rack. The Gobi rack has wire running front to back already so you do not really have to run anything in the gutter stripping.

October 2014 - 285s!

Happy 1st Birthday to my 4R - got her some new shoes to celebrate. Was worried about pulling into the garage, but had about 2.5 inches to spare.

Had to do a little trimming on the front driver's fender liner, but good everywhere else. Will get some better pics when the weather clears up.
