Hah! That would be great! Could you also explain to my wife that the bumper will not only improve fuel efficiency, but also potentially save our family during the zombie apocalypse (:yuck::sniper:). She will not take my word on the matter for some reason.

Well I can at least say it doesn't seem to hurt the gas mileage any. 650 miles since install, mostly highway, and it seems to be about the same as before.
 
Couple updates - finally received my Gobi struts, which almost propelled my lift gate off the hinges the first time I opened it, and some Rotopax storage containers installed.

Do the Gobi struts lift the tailgate open with out assistance? I have the Yukon struts (that fit 5g 4runners) that are rated at 244lbs and It will hold the rear hatch up however I have to help get it there.

Yes, they do, and very easily. I have a Gobi ladder on my lift gate and it opens without assistance.
 
Man, 4Runner looks awesome. Have the same truck and I've been looking at all these builds to find one that fits what I want. Think I just found it!

Thanks! It is hard to stop once you start. I feel like my truck always has something on order :-)

On a side note, I had some cheapy LED lights that I strung onto my Gobi - I think they turned OK. My daughters, of course, (7 and 4) now want me to cover the entire truck inside and out with them.

Are you running spacers with your wheels? I may be one of the few that really digs the look of the TE wheels with aggressive tires. I just wish they poked a bit.

I like the TE wheels as well. I actually bought some some Spidertrax spacers after doing my lift, but have yet to put them on - will hopefully have some free time to do so over the holidays.
 
Really like your build Harco. It's coming together nicely. If I had the dough I would have the same setup, it's been fun following your build, well done!
 
Gobi Rack

Really like how your T4R has turned out. When you ordered your rack from gobi what, if anything, did you specify for light mount points? I would like to do one led in front and two smaller ones in the rear similar to yours.

I just ordered mine the other day and all u have to do is specify what size light ur gonna put up front. It already comes with 2 places to mount lights in the rear. I ordered mine to accommodate a 40" Rigid Curved Light bar up front and 2 6" Rigid lights in the rear. HTH!
 
Great build and great read! Glad to see another Houstonian out here. We will have very similar rigs one day soon.

Have you made it out to any beach runs yet? That's our most accessible wheeling around here it seems.
