Great build and great read! Glad to see another Houstonian out here. We will have very similar rigs one day soon.

Have you made it out to any beach runs yet? That's our most accessible wheeling around here it seems.

Hey! Thanks! Lots of beach runs. Also lots of trips to the hill country. Trying to convince the wife to take a trip out to Yosemite with the kids this summer.

So probably not that exciting for most members here, but the wifey got me an ARB 2000 awning for X-Mas. Needless to say I was pretty excited.

Updates....

I have a couple new things on the way that should be here within the next week or two....

1. Over three months ago I ordered a custom made toolbox for my Gobi Stealth. I did not like the look or design of Gobi's, so I found a company to make one - I took a lot of the ideas for this from SOCalTrail's custom box that he fabricated. Just got word that it shipped today - excited to see how it turned out.

2. Ordered a TRD Pro Grill insert a couple weeks ago - should be here within the next week or so as well.

3. Finally think I have decided on the wheels I want - only took about 15 months. The FN Konig Six Shooter in Graphite. I photoshopped a before and after (today has been a very slow day at work).





Let me know your thoughts. I'm thinking there is a 90% chance that I can get all three of these updates past the wife without her even taking note.

Stock trail wheels are great just add 1.25 spidertrax to them. It helps keep the "its the way it should have come from the factory look"

Couple updates - finally received my Gobi struts, which almost propelled my lift gate off the hinges the first time I opened it, and some Rotopax storage containers installed.

Harkco, sick build. I love it. Can you give me details on which Rotopax containers you got and which mounting hardware you got for them. Also, do they sit higher than the rack itself or sit flush with the rack. I'm trying not to add any more height that necessary. If you have the time to provide links to what you purchased, that would be great. I'll try and save you the time.

Hey [MENTION=62757]chudiddy[/MENTION] - Yes those are the rotopaxs that I purchased. I used those mounts as well at first. If you go that route you would also need the backing plate found here...

I ended up remounting them later down the road and switched to the Universal Mounting Plate....

In my opinion this is a much better way to go if you are planning to use two packs together. It was much easier to center and mount one lager plate vs two smaller mounting plates.

As far as height, the rotopaxs themselves are only slightly higher than the upper tubes on my Gobi steatlh rack. The locks, however, add an additional several inches on top of that. That brought the overall height of the locks to about the same height as the upper front tube on the Stealth rack.

Love your current setup, I had picked out some fuel revolvers when I first ordered my 'runner back in october, but your setup with 285's and lift sold me on the factory rims. Cancelled the rims but contemplating 1" spacers.

Yeah - I keep going back and forth as well. I even bought some spacers to use with the factory wheels and have yet to put them on.

Custom Toolbox

Finally received and installed my toolbox that I had custom made for my Gobi Stealth. It was made by a company called American Truckboxes...

It was a 4 month wait, but otherwise I am very happy with the build and quality. The only thing I really had to do was install a lock on the top and mount it to my rack The dimensions are roughly 3.5" tall x 38" wide x 16" deep.

TRD Pro Grill

Installed this last night - as others have stated, install was super easy and straight forward. Took all of 20 minutes. I think it looks really good with the magnetic gray. I bet it would look even better on a classic silver 4Runner.
