Harkco's Build

Installed this last night - as others have stated, install was super easy and straight forward. Took all of 20 minutes. I think it looks really good with the magnetic gray. I bet it would look even better on a classic silver 4Runner.

Also threw this on while I was digging around.

This may have changed my mind on those expensive plastic parts. I was really hoping to be able to hold out but I do like that look.

Swapped out my 30" E2 for a 40" SR2. I was never quite sold on the 30" on the Gobi. It puts out a ton of light, but I always wished it had a wider spread. I debated on a 40" E2, but ultimately wanted something a little lower in profile. I also have always liked the look of it on RiDE s truck. Anyway, I am very happy with how it turned out, and am done fiddling with lights for now. Starting to contemplate a bumper - which will be a little more difficult to justify to the wife. We shall see.

On a side note, I will probably be listing my E2 for sale in the near future.

Looks pretty good with the single row bar, were you able to use the gobi mount or the rigid light bar mount? Also like your TRD sticker on there looks great, i'm waiting on my Gobi would you be able to tell me the distance between the "buttons" on your wind deflector or let me know where you pocked up the decal?

I used a Rigid 40" SR Cradle. The difference between the "buttons," which I assume you mean the silver bolts on the wind deflector, is 16 inches. I bought the decal off of Amazon... Here is a link.....

Amazon.com: TRD Off Road Car Decal / Sticker: Automotive

Look forward to seeing your Gobi!

That looks great however I am curious as to why you didn't consider one of the RDS Curved Light bars since you were looking for a wider spread of light.

I do like the low profile look of the SR. Great build!

Thanks! I like the RDS bars as well, but still wanted something a little lower in profile.

I grounded everything at the rear of the rack, and then ran power for the front light bar down the weather stripping on the driver's side front windshield and then power for the rear lights down the other side.

Hey man, love the set up. Im getting ready to wire my rears tommorow and may use your method. What gauge wire did you use? I ran a 16 up the weather stripping on the windshield for the front, but I was planning on using 12 for the rear to minimize voltage loss. However, there is no way I'm getting 12 up the weather stripping on the windshield.

(EDIT: Nevermind. Read in a later post you used 14. I don't know if I can get that to fit)

harkco looks great! Installed my Stealth earlier this week and am awaiting my cradles for the 6/20/6 setup in the front and pair of 6's out back. Really like your 40" setup and it's got me second guessing going the separates route. More contemplation I guess! Not quite sure how the wiring will go as I've not really done any of that before, but I'll be drawing heavily on the threads here for guidance. Keep up the great work on your build!

Thanks! Be sure to post some pics along the way - looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Finally got my T4R.org sticker :thumb:

Really enjoying the added MPH, MPG, and improvement in overall handling since installing it :driving:
