Has anybody done this before?

well, i kinda made a little spur of the moment decision and bought myself a 1st gen roll bar that i got for 20 bucks :biggrin2:. I've seen a couple runners that have it installed but most of them are 3rd gens. So... how many of you guys have done or seen it done in a 2nd gen and know of any tips or tricks to make the install maybe go a little bit smoother?

I believe you just have to shorten it alittle and your good to go.

It was quite a bit of work to get it to fit but once we got it in i decided i liked it so i think ill go ahead and keep it :banana:

I hope you put steel plates underneath the 4 mounting points.

This may sound re****ed but how did you get your backend so flat?? Does the bottom of the seats pull forward? (i've never really looked at it, but it looks like it does)

Pretty sweet! And like Fourwd said, make sure you weld plates to the bottom

i actually didnt use steel plates for it, i cut the mounting brackets off of each leg and then cut the legs down and re-welded them back on and then used that and mounted it straight to the body with 1/2 inch bolts with some butyl in between to seal it up so water and stuff cant get in. it almost seems like it could be factory!

yeah the cushions of the rear seats fold up and then you just take out the headrests and push the seatbacks down and it should be flat.

Try drilling your roof for antenna mounts, now that's a scary feeling :
