Has anyone ever re-roofed a 3rd gen?

I have one of the few 4Runners that didn't come with a sunroof. My last 3 cars have had one & I never use them. They're pretty worthless & annoying

I feel the same; guaranteed water entry at some point.

so it looks like there is one additional brace (at B Pillar) in the non-sunroof truck?

I'd want to add that, even if I just scab in a patch panel to close the sunroof opening..

I only see base models & low featured SR5's without them. I'd say there are as rare as a 5 speed or 3RZ.

It's theoretically out there, and they are all probably decaying in a field somewhere in South Dakota, frame ready to snap and seats torn to shreds, but in all of that rare glory. Bonus points if someone can find one in Cardinal Red or Autumn Blaze.

Time to get searching.

LOL, I got lucky & picked this off the lot because it was cheap. I also have factory 4:56 gears (very rare). I still need see if I'm pre-wired for a locker. I doubt it because its a base model but it's fully loaded & came with 16" wheels so you never know. *fingers crossed*

Still on the original 15" steels. Nope, no sunroof. No cruise, no AC, no power locks. -and I don't miss those anyway.

Nope, that's the easiest way to find manual windows. The real challenge is finding an SR5 V6. So far I've seen one with an auto and manual. No lockers yet.

have you verified your 4:56 gears? i'm almost 99% sure the ONLY combo with 4:56 gears was the 3rz, manual, AND Elocker. But i might be wrong, so who knows...

I haven't done the spin test, just the code on the door. On the highway with 33's I'm under 3000rpm at 75mph so I'm confident. (I'd be depressed if I found out I didn't:nod

Nope, at least not in an SR5. I tried. We ordered ours direct from Japan. IIRC, the reason we didn't get the sunroof was b/c it was going to add a substantial delay to getting the truck. I have everything Scramble listed but manual windows.
