has anyone had their chrome bumpers painted to match?

I'm pretty sure trd 4runnin painted his chromes to match, i am assuming this cause they didnt sell the pre 99's in color keyed in America. Its funny you say this cause i was thinkin the same thing, here is what i want mine to look like, without the big flares.

Mine are painted to match but I didn't have it done so I can't really offer an suggestion on price. My truck was a theft recovery that was reassembled in Canada, thus the color-keyed bumpers. Here is a picture...

Taylor, all i can say is my truck is still in one piece and running right (knock on wood) and i have done all the upgrades and maintanence myself.

i have a black truck with chrome bumpers, to me it makes the truck look cheap. i know there are the 3rd gen sport editions out there all black and thats the look im trying to get..however i got the 3rd gen sr5 with chrome bumpers and grille. i've read alot about painting over chrome (b/c i was going to do it myself). you must have paitence when doing it. you must learn how to sand / prime and prep everything b4 u paint. prep is most cruical step. someone here said when u prime the chrome, they had better results after they let the primer sit for a day. i remmeber it was like 5 -7 cans for each bumper..something like that

Hahaha. Taylor I love you too man. In all seriousness I don't think I'd ever consider it for my truck just because I don't think it'd look all that great in black and would probably come out looking a bit cheap as mentioned above. Your truck on the other hand might be able to pull it off. Although if you are planning on doing it I don't know that I'd try it yourself unless you have a lot of experience with a belt sander and a whole lot of patience to go with it. Could definitely look pretty sweet if done right though. Lemme know how it turns out if you go ahead with it.
