Has anyone heard of this weld-togther Bumper??

Hello guys! As most of us, I'd love to have a "plate" style front bumper...but just haven't been able to afford one. Then the other day, while surfing the net...I came across Northwest Trail Innovations. They have a front weld together bumper, which I got kind of excited about...with a base price of $360!!! So, I'm trying to get some background information on them...like what kinda of quality is the bumper?? Anybody every delt with the company?? Any other info??

I'm not worried about the welding aspect. I have a good buddy that welds on the oil pipe lines...another words, it will cost me a case of beer..lol!!

Thanks for any input. If anyone has one, I'd appreciate if you'd post a picture of your rig...thanks?

I also recently saw this. I did some searches on here, and I have only found one person that seems to have one. Supposedly the guy that makes them is pretty legit. I am considering buying one, it is much more cost effective than an ARB bumper (which I have been looking for in the classifieds/ Craigslist for over 2 years and no luck)

- If you don't mind me asking...why haven't you welded your bumper up?

- Even though you haven't put yours together...does it appear to be very difficult to build?

- Last...does it appear to be of good quality?

I like it, from the one picture that is on the website. There should definitely be more photos from different angles, as well as some detail on the method of attachment to the frame rails. It's very interesting, wish there were a bit more info available on it.

It sounds good, but you'll have $575 in it with the grill guard and shipping, then you have to get it painted or powder coated, which will add another $100 (minimum, unless you rattle can it, then add $50-60). So you're probably at about $700 and you have to weld it together. I got an ARB, factory made, all the hardware, powder-coated, with airbag certifications (for the Tacoma) for $800 to my door. For the extra $100-150 I think the ARB is a much better buy (plus the quality that comes from a company that makes thousands of them).

Yea for a un painted, weld together bumper, $360 base price is alil high compared to complete painted plate bumpers.

It usually takes 5-7 days for him to get the kit from his CNC guy, not sure on shipping since I picked it up.

I haven't gotten it welded up because my dad's buddy who's a fabricator is going to do it, but it's his busy season since most of his clients are farmers, and I'm in no hurry.

It doesn't seem like it would be difficult at all to build, the directions aren't the best to be honest, but it's pretty simple once you can understand how it goes together.

It is very good quality, it's all new steel, CNC cut, very clean edges, steel is the same thickness as any other plate bumper I've seen.

I might mention something to him about joining the forum next time I see him. I think he is on Yotatech if I remember right, not as a business though.

Yeah even if he doesnt want to join our forum...it would be awesome if he offered us a group buy. Unfortunately, I know that doesn't help you, Under Fire, but it'd be great for the rest of us. Although, you really got lucky not having to pay for shipping...that saved you over $100!!

Anyway, once you get it all welded up and installed...you'll have to up-load a picture or two and show off your rig!! Thanks again for your opinion...it's much appreciated!!

Dude, not trying to bust your balls, but when did you buy your bumper...back in 2000...or did you buy it used? I just did a search...the cheapest I found was $1175. Then with shipping...I was looking right at $1300! Although, I did find one place that was offering free shipping. I'm sure if you can show us where we can get an ARB Bumper for our 4Runners for $800 shipped to our house...there would be a lot of guys on here that would like that info! Thanks...

For this bumper, it's $360 for the bumper + $45 for a half hoop which =$405. I checked out shipping, which to Ohio was $121...so I'm looking at $405 + $121 = $521 at my door. I myself have a buddy that will help me with welding. And I have another buddy that does powder coating...I just have to pay for the powder, which will be less than $30.

So for $600 I'll be able to have a kicka** bumper!! Even if I had to pay for powder coating...tops is another $150. $600 or $750 is a lot less than $1300!!
