Has anyone removed this piece?

Hey guys, i was curious if anyone has removed the plastic piece pictured below where the white arrow is? It stretches along the bottom part of the bumper and is held on by clips and some screws.I think its only on the SR5 models. I wanna take it off but i noticed like right in the middle there is like an air scoop that leads back to the oil pan area. I'm concerned that if i remove it i may reduce some cooling capability to where that air dam points to or shoot maybe i'll make it get more air. i was just wondering if anyone had removed that piece...i think it would look better with it off. Any info would be cool, thanks guys :)

Take it off- er - the airdam that is. I took mine off months ago- looks much better without it...

My LTD has it too. I'll be taking it off, as well as the side skirts this fall when I put my AT's on for winter and hunting use.

Was it pretty easy to do? When i changed my oil i started looking at doing that project.

The side skirts i took off for about a week then i put them back on. It just had this rough unfinished look but i started thinking lately how i can make it look good with them off. It was an easy removal took about 15min

is that what people call the "front spoiler" ?

I'm thinkin yes this is the front spoiler, i didn't know what to call it. Its always getting bug splatter on it!

I thought there was a thread on this already but I forgot all about it, thanks for the re-fresh as I was also thinking of doing this. Any other input from the guys that did this already?

It's very easy- if a bit confusing! Reason I say that it has tabs that go over some things, under some things and a few bolts holding it on. The 2
Plastic scoops come off with push-pins(pry the head out with a small screwdriver and pull the clip out) and the rest comes off with bolts. I left the plastic filler piece between the bumper and skidplate on for a more finished look. No regrets here doing this. I love the way it looks. Here's an older thread on it...With pics from when I removed mine...

I've removed the air scoop only. It looks much better and took just a couple minutes using a screwdriver to pop open the plastic rivets. TEs, FJs, etc. don't have this I think its pretty useless.
.

Cool! Yeah after reading everyone's responses
i think i will be removing that piece this weekend.
maybe finish applying Plastidip to my roof rack
too.
