Has anyone run Truetrac or LsD in front?

I used to work for Eaton who makes the Detroit Locker and Truetrac and I still have friends there that might be able to get me the parts at cost. I would prefer to have Detroit locker or truetrac in rear and selectable locker in front but if I can get the truetrac for cheap then I might do them both front and rear. One reason to do front is to solve my differential bearing noise issue that I have another post on (Driveline Noise). My questions are:

Do they make a truetrac specific to the front diff or is it the same part number as rear because they use the same 8" diff?

Would a LSD in front cause negative driving characteristics?

Potentially I could run a Detroit Auto lock in back and truetrac in front but that's probably too extreme since this is also my DD. It sounds like Chase at ECGS is a good man to talk to about this stuff so I may give him a call.

I had a Truetrac in front of my last 4Runner, and didn't like it. It caused understeer on slick or loose surfaces (snowy or icy pavement, gravel, sand) and wasn't quite tight enough to keep both wheels spinning if I lifted one when I got into the rocks and ruts. Kinda the worst of both worlds, I thought, between an open diff and an autolocker. Not unmanageable, but definitely annoying.

I think it'd be a great choice for the rear of a truck that only sees mild offroad, but I wouldn't use it if you plan to wheel hard and I wouldn't put it in the front at all.

[MENTION=49649]KidVermicious[/MENTION] is spot on. You'd regret doing it. I know a guy that did it and wheeled with him and it was a disaster, turning was a b!tch. Maybe a lsd wouldn't be as bad but personally I'd never do it. Selectable or nothing for the front IMHO.
