Hatch Rattle, Latch Adjustment?

Appreciate the tips in this thread. My 4th gen was really bad and I had to keep greasing the latch and striker. Good to know there's an adjustment on the 5th gens.

My rear hatch rattle is coming from the plastic tabs on the 4Runner logo and model designation thingy breaking off and it banging against the liftgate when jostled.

Thanks for posting, brass bar & BFH fixed mine too. Now that the hatch rattle is gone the dash can get back to driving me nuts.

After having this annoying rattle coming from the back and having both myself and the wifey sit in the back to hear the noise to figure what it was...she must have better ears, she figured out that holding the hatch tight from the inside made the sound go away but once letting go, it came back. Quick search and found this post...after several attempts to knock it back with no luck, I ended just flipping it around...nice and quiet now.
Are you flipping this around? That is all?

Replaced actuator/latch assembly. $52 off Amazon and 20 minutes, problem solved:

Man, flipping my 2011 original hatch striker plate around lasted a year, now rattling again. I guess time for a new one. Did you replace the striker as well?
