Hate the new tax plan?

China has already endorsed a cap and trade system more than a year ago. Also, as one of the largest providers of capital in the world they have pledged to no longer finance carbon intensive projects around the globe.

China as a country has, not Chinese companies though. Who owns the Chinese companies?

Smoke and mirrors.

Interesting. Got a source?

Sounds like while the system was created nearly a year ago the implementation of the system has actually just begun.

No issues with the carbon market plan in China at all. I was in Weifang Province not too long ago. I was issued a mask as the pollution is really bad there. It reminded me of LA back in the 70's. It really needs fixed!

I think they will eventually clean up China in 15-20 years. China is a long way behind us and Europe. My remarks were for the foreign companies that Chinese companies own that are located outside their borders. India for example. I don't worry about North America as we have good air quality laws but some of the third tier countries are going to make a lot of pollution for a long time as they modernize up to a decent standard. Many of those companies in those countries are owned by Chinese interests and they won't be clean for a long time. That's my point.

Hate the new Tax Plan?? If we Taxed the new Hate Plan we would have enough to fund everything.

you on welfare ?

working people are gonna get a tax cut . plenty of jobs are being created ..
not burger flip jobs like the last administration created..also companies leaving the USA because of federal regulations by the last president.

companies coming back .. looking good up here in the cold north. lowest unemployment in 45 yrs !

my pension fund and other family members are loving this stock market explosion ..

amazonian rainforests have been subjected to slash and burn clearing for centuries by humans, not decades. this is nothing new.

if you wrote more clearly, you might present your point more effectively.

YA your are correct perhaps thousands of years of this activity .. over the last 40 yrs they now use huge machines . clear out thousands of acres in a short time. so the CO2 effect is increasing at a faster rate .. 40 yrs ago it was in the news , about how NOW , we will have this CO2 issue , due to the RAPID destruction of these tropical rain forests..

Rhode Island has the highest % of woodlands in the USA. small state but New England does have high woodland coverage. when Wisconsin relatives come out here they are surprised to see how many forests are here .. Wisconsin not so much ...

the problem of CO2 absorption here is , only about 4 months the trees do the work ..

Something that has been going on in Michigan for a long time, "they" clear an entire forest so it can be replaced with condos. I see this all over the state. Of course it's nothing like the eighteen hundreds when the big lumber companies came in and completely denuded the whole state. Of course, all those trees died so Chicago could be built. As for the original post, the left/liberal democrats will scream and yell about anything President Trump says or does or doesn't say or do. It doesn't matter how good they and their "news media" will go nuts. Those of us on the conservative side must remember all this the next time a non-Republican gets elected.

the duration of the "active growing season" isn't a problem. the carbon is still captured in the wood tissue for a long time. in point of fact, there are trees in new england and nothern climes that DO respirate during the winter months, depending upon ambient conditions. clearly at a greatly reduced rate compared to peak growing season, but not zero.

This is why I thought it was significant that they also pledged to stop funding projects outside of their borders that are carbon intensive. Being that they are one of the largest financier's in the world, it can have a big impact.

As for emissions and manufacturing in other third world countries most of the western world isn't exactly guilt-free since much of that is being done to produce goods we all use, at the third world labour price point we all seem to expect.

I mean, obviously its not going to be solved over night and China is still a significant polluter, but they are taking meaningful steps in the right direction. They are also now the world leader in 'green' energy.

I believe china and india are the leaders in coal energy .. not green.
It was reported the USA is doing a great drop, in carbon CO2 generation. air quality has improved by a huge amount over the last 10 years in USA.. Canada I have NO idea what they are doing on CO2 ....well what about that oil production in the Alberta area province ..? Looks bad on environment ..

sorry coal miners , coal not good..

china not only pollutes air it is a very dirty country .. water pollution is big..Chinese people still use coal NOW to heat homes etc....

up in the cold northeast Nat Gas is taking over the home heating industry from oil ..as well as electric generation ..gas is a cheaper method to produce electric power , less pollution, and less repairs ..

USA is producing the highest amount of petroleum products now.. USA is an exporter of petroleum ..

Russia/middle east not all that happy ...

low gas prices more people will get off welfare and work !

When it is more beneficial to get off the couch, which won't happen.

People won't 'get off the couch' until a job pays them more than .gov pays them to sit on the couch. That won't happen for two reasons. First, because the average job out there is garbage (you'll likely have to sell your couch). Second, because it's a massive voting base for the 'blue team,' which they'd surely like to maintain/grow.

All you have to do is familiarize yourself with the history of taxation in this country to realize how silly this is. It reminds me of those old movies.

"Do you want it in the head or the chest?"

it doesn't even sound great now, just another way for the rich to get richer while throwing a few tenths of a cent to the working class.

THIS^ right here...this jealousy of the rich is why the majority of people who hate Trump and his tax plan are doomed to be wards of the state. If I get a...let's say 10% decrease in my tax bracket, but the rich guy next door gets a 20% decrease...how in the world does that affect my pocket? It doesn't.

The bottom line (I'm aware that this is oversimplifying this) is that if given the choice of an X% decrease in the taxes I pay, or NO decrease in the taxes I'll pay, give me the X every time. No excuses, no jealousy, just give me the break. Oh, the other guy got more? Not my problem...none of my business. The other guy doesn't buy my groceries or pay my mortgage, nor do I pay his. See? The majority of us were given that choice - get an X% break, or none at all. I could care less what the rich got or didn't get. What I care is that my paycheck is a little fatter now.

Really? Doomed to be Wards of the state ....

I would say that wealth inequality in the United States is one of the most important issues of our time. Trump rally against the ultra-rich during his campaign and then swung in their favor as soon as he took office. Agree?

Almost no one on the left was talking about wealth inequality except for Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The Democratic Party as it has been called out a long time ago by Ralph Nader was completely taken over by corporatists.

I would even argue that the Democrats left open the hole for Donald Trump to crawl out of via their failed policies that ignored wealth inequality for the last 20 years. Policies like NAFTA policies like H-1B visas, policies like tax subsidies for corporations such as Exxon and corporations and countless other Industries.

The truth is globalization has not worked out very well for the middle class but let's not kid ourselves the Democrats were right there along the way cheering it on.

However let's also not kid ourselves about the Republicans attitude toward taxes in the rich they seem to have completely embraced trickle down economics, a policy that literally no Economist agree works and nowhere in history has it ever been shown to work.

The problem is that this would require both sides to shoulder some of the blame. Something that neither side seems anywhere close to wanting to do. Both with their politicians or constituents.

Boy this thread sure went quiet the last few days... Con-dicks? Nothing to say when the largest point decline in a single day occurs?

Oh that's right I've forgotten:
Anything good= my team rules!
Anything bad= your team sucks!

Here fishy fishy fishy .....

jealousy? I don't know how you got that out of my comment but you are incorrect.:moony:

The Dow is 30 stocks, it will and always has rallied back, lets not be quick to judge everything. This thinking is why Obama and Trump get nothing done. I had some good buys today, but the market is just one aspect of what retirement should be, This country has many issues and Trump as a our leader should make everyone think...... How in the hell did we get here. If you continue to bash the rich they will take there money other places. The leaders that condemn the tax plan benefit from it greatly also. Our leaders ON BOTH Sides are completely clueless to what the lower and middle class need.
