Thanks.. Getting back to the 09's though, they have about 9 of them around north west atlanta, 3 Limited, 1 Sport, and 5 Sr5s, No trail edition yet though, I want to see one of those

Have you actually seen them or are they on their web-site saying they have them?

There were no 2008's left in black other than Urban Runners and I didn't care for that package.

New for 2009 is the trail edition package for the V6 SR5 with four-wheel drive, which adds a locking rear differential, traction control and Bilstein shocks for added off-road acumen. Also included are seats covered in a water-resistant material and other exterior and interior trim.

I sure hope they put XREAS on the Trail Model.

I thought about the 16" wheels, almost every 4Runner comes with 17". If you look at it from the off roading side, I would think the 16" would be better. Each wheel has more side wall area, making more flex, especially if you lower the air pressure. The 17" would be better on the road. So, I guess from that standpoint, smaller is better. Heated side mirrors are really nice, my 3rd gen. has them. I thought I would never need them, but thye do work.

I understand the Blistien shocks, for off road, I guess the tom tom might be for finding your off roading part of the world???

Actually, you wouldn't benefit by have XREAS on the trail. It is designed to give better cornering stability, less body roll, at speed on the road (that's why the Sport has it.)

I would argue the 16's to be better too. The reasons you mentioned are true; to what extent? I'm not sure. The biggest reason for 16's, to me, is you have double or triple the tire options so it's much easier/cheaper to get the "perfect tire" for your specific wants/needs.

Without calling it a Scion I expect they're anticipating a high level of 'personalization' with the TE. With that as the back drop they can say "we gave you 16's to make your tires easier to choose" and they can say "no, we didn't cheap out on the big brakes, we can't put them in with 16's". Purely speculation on my part but if I was in charge of specs/marketing I'd choose the 16's for this model... I would've also offered a V8 and a "real" skidplate package.
