Hawk 5.0 brake pads

I have been running a specific pad/rotor combo for over 20years on all my vehicles including a Charger SRT8 which came factory with Brembo brakes.
My combo is HAWK HPS pads front and rear, with Centric/Powerslot Slotted rotors. This combo works perfect and I have never had a warped rotor or high dust. What I have had is a consistent high quality well stopping vehicle that when used hard never fades away.
Recently, HAWK introduced their new line of High Performance pads called simply, the 5.0.
I am here to tell everyone that the new HAWK 5.0 Street pads work even better than the previous HPS pads. And, the harder you work them the better they work. The cold bite is amazing too. Once again HAWK has outdone their selves with another high quality performance part. My truck stops shorter and when used hard, I have no brake fade....

so how do the street pads compare to the lts pads? i might switch since its almost that time, i currently run the LTS pads.

I run the Hawk 5.0's as well, with centric rotors. Love them, they are great in all conditions. The LTS series is meant for HD Trucks or something with a lot of weight up front or back.

I tried the LTS pads once on my Ford Expedition. That rig had a small performance lift along with the Centric/Powerslot Slotted rotors. I originally ran the HPS pads prior to and after. I then tried the LTS pads ONCE and didnt like them at all. For my spirited driving style coupled with use as my company truck putting nearly 100 miles a day in the Las Vegas hot summer days in stop and go traffic, the HPS pads had better consistency and amazing bite.
I figured the LTS pads would help my heavy Expedition equipped with the lift and larger tires. The pedal feel felt mushy. When driving fast off road on switch back roads, the LTS pads heated up and I could smell the pads, plus started losing pedal. Before the LTS pads were wore out, I switched back to the HPS pads and instantly I could feel the difference. I have not tried the LTS pads on anything else.
But, I will say, Im super impressed with the pedal feel and overall bite of the 5.0 pads. If you are a spirited driver and have a rig lifted with larger tires, have alot of gear in your rig adding to the overall weight of the rig, you wont go wrong with these pads. Ive had them on for about 3000 miles and love them.
Thanks

I see the same. I just ordered the HPS 5.0 on front and the regular HPS on rear. Will circle back about my thoughts.

Part numbers here for the 338MM front rotor model

Front: Hawk Performance HB490B.665 HPS 5.0 Disc Brake Pad

Rear: Hawk Performance HB477F.610 HPS Performance Ceramic Brake Pad

Thanks for the share, I'm actually gathering info now to do the brakes on mine. Have you noticed a difference between slotted rotors and blank/oem rotors on the 4Runner? Or is it just a combo that worked great for you and you just decided to stick with it?

Also do you happen to have the part number for the rotors? I tried looking it up on rockauto but couldn't find the slotted rotors 338mm fronts.
