Head Dilema

Will a new head unit attached to the stock amp sound as good?

I like the JBL surround sound.

Will a new head merely add more features and sound like crap, be the same, or improve the sound?

A new headunit with the stock amp will make it sound better!! I recently installed an Eclipse 726e (which isn't necessarily known for great sound quality) and it sounds great. It really brings some life to the 10 speaker system.
