Head Gasket Blown

I have a 1995 4runner and at least blew the head gasket. I am thinking of doing a complete rebuild on the engine. Is there anything I can do to fix the head gasket issue on the 3vze engine. I have heard that a header would help but I can not find one for a 2wd model. Also does anyone have any guides on a engine rebuild, I have never done it before but will be helped by a friend that has done it before. Any info would be appreciated

Hi neighbor! As far as preventing the hg to cook again headers and/or heat wrap should do the trick. And a in depth manual may be hard to come by, have you looked at chilton, or Haynes? The manual I have is very detailed, even though my truck is a bit older it would be the same for any year. I can take a look at the brand of manual I have if you want, I can't remember the name at this moment

Edit: I believe there is no difference between 4wd and 2wd headers. But I can't honestly say that with 100% confidence. Call yotamasters (located in corona) and ask a few questions, they have excellent customer service and could prob point in the right direction as for as parts for your rebuild and headers

2wd pickup is different than 4wd because the frames and torsion bard mounts are different, but 2wd runners should have the same suspension as 4wd runners.

You can down load a factory service manual from a link in the stickies.

Keeping your cooling system in check and not letting the truck over heat will help with long head gasket life
