Head gaskets 3.0

What are the head gaskets most people are using when replacing on my 3.o? OEM Toyota seems to have the history of failing. Thought I would try Felpro. What experience have you people had. Block is good and heads are flat.

I'd stick with toyota, I'm personally not a fan of fail pro gaskets.

Go with Toyota head gasket. I would not buy aftermarket.

It's not the gasket itself that is the course of the failure, it is just crappy design of the engine.

I would trust OEM,it is what i used when i did my head gasket on my 91 T4R also check the head bolts for any stretching.if budget allows replace all head bolts too.

Anyone know if the OEM head gaskets are now multi layered steel (MLS)? Seems to be the hot ticket from places like LCE...
I'm about to re-assemble a my 3.0 and was just curious if they are worth the extra coin....

I have always used rockwell gaskets thats the product company my cyl head repair shop that i always have used suggest and they are multi layer like you have said its worth a peak i have done a hand full of 3.0 and never had a prop and i agreee with the others fel pro is good on some vehicles but dont seem to do well with these and rec replacing head bolts and lube head bolt threads when going back together

OEM gasket. its not the gasket that is at fault. poor cooling system, wrong coolant used, poor/bad grounds, and may other factories play a part in HG failures.

one thing alot of people miss, even toyota techs when doing the recall is to check the block for pitting. if there is pitting, the block needs to be replaced.
the head should be decked and cut. the block should be decked and if out of specs than repair accordingly
