I just noticed and this is the sceond time this happend to me, when I had my headlights on and got out of the truck there is no alarm telling me that I left the lights on. Is something wrong with my truck as I thought there was soppsed to be something that made you aware of it?

Don't they stay on for "X" amount of time then shut off? The logic here would be to be able to see to get into your house in the dark, then the lights would go out. Or are you saying they used to alarm you and now don't?

No alarm for mine

Mine doesn't alarm for the headlights. It does ding once if I've left a window open. Lights turn off eventually or if you double click the lock they turn off immediately.

Didn't know about the double click, cool. FWIW tho, I only get the window open chime if I leave the sunroof open, nothing else.

Couldn't remember for sure, so just checked my 12' SR5. No alarm, but they turn off after 1 minute. :-)

Correct....and they turn back on to the same setting when you restart the engine, so if you pull out the next morning you'll have your headlights on.

Thanks guys. Need to look into this. Mine is an standard 11 SR5. Surprised they would'nt have s warning signal like so many other cars do. I know the DRL's are always on which I do like.

Not much to look into my friend. Neither my '11 SR5 nor the '12 TE have any headlight alarm. If you leave the headlights on they automatically go off (if the doors are shut) after 20 seconds or so. This is the "auto headlight" feature that confused many people before. They thought it meant "auto on" at dusk. It means "auto off" if you leave them on and turn off the key and shut the doors.

My 2015 base SR5 doesn't have the auto option and the lights don't go off after any amount of time as best I can tell (left them on for well over 10 mins). The owners manual references option A (which I have) and option B (which has the Auto option). I guess I should have done better research before I purchased.

If you lock your doors with the fob they should turn off,
Also if you take your keys with you they will turn off after a while.
