Head unit issue

I've searched around google and on here and can't find anything relevant. I have an aftermarket JVC deck installed (came this way and when it was parked was known working) and it wont turn on. There is a reset button on the front and if I hit it it turns on for a second and then shuts off. I can hear what sounds like a relay click on and off a few times. Ive checked fuses already and they are good. I pulled the dash apart earlier (due to mice) and checked the wires, everything looks good. Any suggestions?

Id prefer to not bite the bullet on a new deck if I dont have to, but if its toast Ill go ahead. The current deck is a JVC KD-LX1. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Check for power and verify your ground first.

When you "checked the wires" did you use a meter, or just visual? You have to use a meter if you want a reliable check.

Walmart sells a cheap, $14 BOSS head unit. You could buy this and connect to existing wires. If it works, your unit is simply fried.
