Headlight Adjustment Screw Help

Long story short (to avoid my embarrassment for the most part) the headlight adjustment screw on my driver side headlight was unscrewed to the point that it went passed the screw’s limit and now the housing/bulbs are moving freely inside the headlight. Still attached but freely tilting forward and back.

As you can probably assume due to the weight of the mount, the headlight is aimed significantly higher and shakes when driving down the road. I am sure I am aggravating plenty of drivers in front of me.

I have gone to the point of taking the entire light out and turning the screw while I have the mount pushed as closely as possible to try and rethread but have had no success.

My question is, if I were to bake the headlight and get inside there do I have a chance of getting this screw rethreaded? Or am I SOL and I need to just buy a new headlight?

Thanks in advance for yalls help.

This has been posted before, and I'm sorry I don't remember the outcome.

This link will tell you how to Google-search the 5th Gen forum -- it's here somewhere.

I do know baking open the Gen 5.1 headlights is generally considered a real b!tch. You can buy new sealant from The Retrofit Source.

If you can't figure it out, call a retrofitter, or start a thread on HIDPlanet.

Yes I found that thread before. There wasn’t much of a resolution to it so I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone else had experience with this situation.

I've got a set of lights down in my parking garage. I'll run down and look at them...... brb.

Not sure if helpful. You can see the screw, and I've got my finger on the seam where they'd separate, but it's just not possible to see inside.

Suggest you email Caesar at Lightwerkz. He just did mine, and has done a few Gen 5.1 headlights lately.

There are a couple forum members who've opened their own ... if you can find them. Google search the 5th gen forum for "retrofit".

Yea I have pretty much taken it apart to the point of opening up at that seem but I have done it in the past with other cars and it is a pain. I have taken apart pretty much everything but those screws at the seams and moved the housing/bracket as far as I can to reach the screw but no luck in re-threading it. So far I am looking like I am SOL.

I will get in touch with Caesar and see if he has any advice, thanks.
