Headlight bulb socket different on driver side vs passenger side

Today while installing my LED bulbs I noticed the brackets the bulb go into are in a different orientation on the drivers side vs the passenger side. The bulb on the driver side ends up in the 3 to 9 position while the passenger side ends up on the 6 to 12. The bulbs are not clockable. I looked up photos online and noticed all 4runners are like this. Thoughts?

With the bulbs being inherently round in nature, does it really matter what position the socket is on the backside? Or am I missing something?

Yea he is using LEDs which most likely means the diode is in the incorrect position. This is one of the reasons why LEDs are not recommended for low beam use. Lower output is another reason as well.

Gotcha, so LED low beams, not round so to speak or at least not 360 degree light output, socket is part of the conversion kit. (Google is my friend)

That means the hole in the housing is cut differently side to side.

That seems like a big oops on the manufacturer if the light output doesn't correctly line up with the housing/reflectors, etc.

Perhaps a Dremel tool to make a slight modification to either the socket or the headlight bucket?
