Headlight Compatability

I have a 1998 4Runner and need to purchase a pair of new headlights. Question: Are the 1999-2002 headlights compatable with my 1998? I like the look updated look of these headlights. Anyone know of any cheaper priced headlights than Ebay? Thanks

yes, 99-02's are compatible with 96-98

As for headlinghts, I would stick to OEM, nothing else. aftermarket headlight options (at least for our 4r's) are garbage. They don't even come close, not worth the $.

99-02 headlights will work on your 98 but DON'T BUY EBAY LIGHTS!!!!! I have first hand experience-they are pure crap and the beam pattern is horrible!! A seller mislead me to believe that I was buying OEM headlights, while he was actually selling the "Eagle Eyes" brand headlights and I paid damn near $300 and didn't get refunded. They were so bad I almost got into an accident driving with them. After that experience I had no choice but to pay another $500 for a new OEM pair since I gave away my old OEM lights, the local junkyards had no 4Runners at the time, and it was unsafe to drive with the eagle eyes lights. Just trying to give you a helpful heads-up so you don't have to waste so much $ as I did.
