My passenger side headlight has moisture ( a lot ) and it doesnt go away no matter how long its dry out. The dealer says i need to get a new assembly and housing and everything (damaged). Im thinking if i need to get a new headlight, are there any decent aftermarket setups that would be worth doing both while im doing one anyways? Or just replace the one side witha factory replacement?

If the lens or housing is cracked then you must buy new but if its just the seal that's failed, you can dry it out and reseal it. Do a search and you'll find threads on how to do it. As for aftermarket, there's really nothing that meets OEM quality. Alot of guys with 03-05 4runners upgrade to 06-09 headlights because there projector style but you already have those. You can do a retro fit but thats alot of work, again do a search and you'll find more info.
On a side note, if you decide to replace both headlights, ill buy your old ones off you as long as the lens isn't damaged.

there are a lot of sites that sell individual headlights for $120ish each... if you want a change, you could switch the Sport headlights which are titanium instead of chrome. one thing you can do in the mean time is to drill a very small hole into the lowest part of the headlight lens (its plastic) so that the moisture can both drain and evaporate.

Some time ago I realised just how yellowed & crappy looking my headlight housings were, and that a couple of the mounting pieces were broken (from a small rear-end oopsie). I replaced the housings with some aftermarkets off Ebay for less than $100 for the pair. Shipped.
They look great, and holding them up to the OEMs you can't tell a difference. Now I figured I could either spend $100 total on these housings, and pocket the savings for gas, or other things I may want to do, Or waste an additional $150 (for a total of $250 plus tax, or shipping if off an internet site) just to get housings that say "Toyota" on them. For me it was a no brainer.

to OP, ive had 2 different brands of aftermarket sets on my 06, besides leaks, none have matched the quality of the toyota oem, the oem are even heavier in weight. (thicker lens i believe), also the UV coating has peeled off on the aftermarket & they have more of a chance of developing hair line cracks if baked for blacking out. imo, either spend the extra $ for the toyota oem, or pop your old one in the oven to reseal it, you can then run a bead of silicone around it if needed.
Im thinking ill just drop the extra cash and do it all the way and get a new setup from the dealer.. asking 200 and change for parts and install so might as well swap it out. Get it done and get on the road..
