Headlight film?

I'm in the same boat as all the others; interested to see how this turns out. I need to do an overhaul on my retrofits this year, and I've been considering adding film after I wetsand the lenses.

LOL well turns out I absolutely suck at applying the film. Ordering a new set since I ruined half of the roll.

[Edit]: Actually I might just try the other half on one headlight and see if I like it. I'll post here as well. Save a couple bucks before I order another set haha

I saw that white 4Runner on IG, it looks rad! I want to see a few more... tempted to do mine, but I think it really only works on white/black/silver rigs. Not sure how it'd look on SRP.

Well surprise surprise I messed up the second half of the tint LOL
Kept getting folds and after about 30 minutes got frustrated and I gave up. I need more practice with this kinda stuff haha
But if you wanna get (somewhat) of an idea of what it would look like here you go.
I sorta like it. But until I can do this cleanly :frusty:

you need to use alot of baby shampoo and water mix, also use a heat gun, thats how the window tint installer do, he applies heat to stretch the film. go slow. try again.

did you use heat to help apply it or did the instructions forbid it?

No instructions though I did apply the adhesive side to a dry headlight. I also used a hair drier and a squeegee. I think I tried applying it way too fast and messed it up lol

I would def try heating it up some more, how well does it remove since you messed up?

Pretty nice. No residue left behind. Like it was never there haha

I had a similar experience tinting my fog lights. It look lots of soapy water, carefully directed heat, a squeegee, and lots of patience. It helped me to pull the light and do it on the bench.

I think the tinted light looks far to mirrored for me, I actually prefer your other headlight in the pic that has a very subtle "oil in a puddle" effect.
