How do you disassemble the headlight and black out outter edges? What product works best?

This is for '06-09 but it's pretty much the same for '03-05

edit:

When I've blacked out mine (three times, for 3 sets) I don't remove the goop. Instead I leave it and after painting I put the housing on top of the lens and bake again then press the two together and install the screws & clips. Baking like this makes the OEM glue bubble and reseal/adhere to itself. I've never had any problems with leaks doing it this way vs. using new silicone which is a messier and more time consuming method.
