Headlight not shuting off. 5th gen trail pre.

I have 2016 trail pre. I have HID TRS light kit installed. Installed TRS kit from day one. 14 months of ownership and loving it. But having a new problem I have always kept my lights in the on position after shutting off the runner. After a few minutes, the light automatically shuts off. I was basically using them like this as auto headlights never had a problem. Now the lights are sometimes not shutting off. I have come out to find low battery not dead but close. Looking for the reason this is happening. I know it not meant to be used this way just looking for what has changed.

Are you making sure all doors and rear hatch are closed all the way? I know if they stay open or unlatched the lights will stay on. Just a thought.

I've been using mine just like that for 6 years. Try locking it twice when you get out and see if they shut off right away.

Are you making sure all doors and rear hatch are closed all the way? I know if they stay open or unlatched the lights will stay on. Just a thought.

Yes, all doors and rear hatch are closed all the way. I'll take a look at the door jam triggers. Thanks, this is the answer I was looking for was not sure where the control was telling them to turn off from.

Did you use a wiring harness with relays? If yes, rap one of them with a screwdriver handle when this happens.

I've been using mine just like that for 6 years. Try locking it twice when you get out and see if they shut off right away.

OK, I'll give that a try thanks. I also have viper alarm and remote start don't know if that might be causing this problem or not. But I have had both for over a year with no problems till now.

Well, double locking from the factory key light turned off. So I figured out the problem my viper remote is not locking the doors it is just arming the system. So the door has not been locking for the past few days. Not sure why the factory remote locks the doors and arms the viper system but not the viper remote. I guess that's my alarm installers problem.
