Headlight (on) warning buzzer/bell

Just bought a used -04, there is no indicator that I'm leaving the lights on. Is this normal or should there be a buzzer or dinging sound. Would like to know before I run my battery down, which of course will happen on a rainy night miles from home.

Don't sweat it, the 4Runners light will turn off after about 30 seconds. Its an auto off feature. Check your manual and I think there is a way to change the interval.

Also when you hit the lock button on your key fob twice within 4 seconds, it'll turn off the lights automatically. I leave my lights on the whole time I'm driving (night/day) and hit the key fob twice when leaving to shut it off.

When you go to park your truck, leave the headlight switch on the on position. Then either wait 30 seconds or hit the lock button twice. Note that this feature will not work if you turn the lights on after you turn off the engine. Then I think they will go off after 20-30 minutes to save the battery but I never was brave enough to try it. In addition, the parking lights turn off when you open the driver door.
