Headlight options.

I have been real happy with the PIAA bulbs I put in
they are much brighter than any of the Sylvania ones you buy at big box stores, and brighter than the Ostrams I had in my BMW
I don't remember the exact ones I put in,
but I remember them listed as 60/55 =110/100 watt or something like that.
if needed I can dig out the paperwork
they had been recommended by another forum member a year back

Another option, would be to add stock fog lights if you have the year to support them. I think it's '00 and newer? I was able to do this on my wife's Altima and it made a world of a difference. I adjusted the lights to give more field of view and peripheral view, as well as brighten directly in front. I think it was about $90 from Nissan which included lights, brackets and the new combination switch.

I just parted out a 2002 4Runner and it has the fog light wiring harness just tied up in the corner, it's pre-wired.

Any idea what size came from factory?

With 55w HID's in projectors, I literally can't tell if my fog lights are on or off. If you're looking for a massive difference, I think you'd be disappointed.

Unfortunately you'll have to find a new Jedi Master. I have not yet done it on a 4Runner since my 98 is not pre-wired for fog lights. The parts you will need are:

• Toyota fog lights (or LED's that will fit the connector that's hanging in the bumper)
• Mounting brackets if the fog lights don't come with them
• A new multifunction switch with the fog light toggle
• Possibly extra fuses & such, not sure

Could probably snag these from a junkyard if you look around. Nissan sold a nice pretty "fog light kit" that had it all put together, I just had to source newer brackets to fit my 2011. I think it was a dealer option or something since it even came with factory instructions on how to install it.

55w HID projector retrofits will outshine anything else on the market per watt, including LEDs. They also have a distinct cutoff so as to not blind oncoming drivers.

Do you lose your high beams with the projector retrofits?

Projectors are high and low beam. Low is the same wattage as high beam with a shield that cuts off how far the light travels upward and down the road.

Thanks csp. Just did some light reading on bi-xenon projectors. Pretty cool stuff.
