Silverstars Installed

Okay I got them installed by VIP Auto Parts. I went there early this morning and bought the Silverstars part #9004ST. I paid $40.00 for the pair and installation was free.

BTW I watched the mechanic do it from the viewing area and he never took the grill off. He moved the battery back a bit (did not disconnect it) and removed the windshield washer reservoir (I think) and seemed to move one other thing, I am not sure what though as my view was obstructed and the entire procedure took him ten minutes.

Thanks all for the info and for the tip Mike. They are a huge improvement over the stock bulbs.

Yea the Manual says to remove the grill but I did for a minute almost move the battery and the Air intake but did the grill instead both probably take about the same amount of time to do.

Glad it all worked out.

I was wondering if any PNW people would know if Portland had any auto parts stores that installed their products for free. It took me near a month (and a burnt out bullb) to get my fogs installed. And they are not even done all the way. I was thinking about going and finding a place like this and buying a new set. I will post a pic later of what mine have amounted to.. my dad put the switch (since there was not enough wire) under the hood.

If I do not do this I need to find out just how much the one bulb that burned out is gonna cost to replace. my lights are below in my siggy...

But be advised, they do not install fogs or driving lights; just headlights. If they did driving lights, I would have had them put on the Hellas when they did my Silverstars. So, the Hellas will go on in the spring.

cause my dad is chronically lazy... He said he'd have more wire the next time I go down there - but I doubt it.. and one of the bulbs are burned out already and I doubt I can get new bulbs for this p.o.s. lighting system unless I can put silverstars in there.

Is the bulb that is out in your fog lights he just installed?
If so are you sure it is burned out or maybe one of the fog lights is not grounded or getting power?

And you know the Silverstars we are talking about are for the stock Headlights right? not for fog lights.

I'm thinking new bulbs for my '94. Has anyone had silverstars burn out prematurely?
Anyone install Razo's?

To add to the VW list, my first car was a black '86 GTI. Man I loved that thing. A little underpowered but so fun to drive, especially when I threw in some Eibachs. Bought it for $4300, drove it for 104,000 miles, sold it for $2800! I still daydream about getting another and dropping in a VR6 motor.

I own a 91 and it does not have stock fog lights or bulb replacement for the headlights. The whole headlight unit has to be replace :bash:

Is there a conversion for it?

About the VW... I wanna join too!!! Unfortunately... my first car was a .. you guess it !!! (or maybe not) ... a FORD!!!:awais:

Well i got tired of those halogen so i got some HID's (high intensity discharge). I used some Bi-Xenon Projectors out of a BMW, so i have high and low beam HID's
