Headlight Removal - HELP!

Hey guys, I feel a little noobish asking this..so here it goes. Yesterday I had my mind set on attempting to blackhouse my headlights. The first step in doing so, of course, would be the remove the lamp fixture. The first 3 screws were easy and visible, just a couple plastic pushers to take out but there seems to be a screw near the bumper frame which I can not seem to get to. Any tricks on getting to this sucker? Its right of the end of the plastic arm connecting closer to the wheel well on both sides. It has been driving me crazy! and my pride is at an all time low, seeing as I've been defeated by the beast. Thanks!

lol....Good luck buddy...I am going to try that same adventure this weekend..I got the accesories needed..but the big thing I believe... is that!!...taking off and re-assembling!..

If you are referring to the one that is connected to the plastic arm that comes straight down from the headlights, there is nothing you can do except feel around until you get lucky. You could try getting a socket on it first, then connecting the wrench to it after that. I think I used a long socket so I had more reach to get in there. Otherwise it's all luck. It took me 5 or 10 minutes to get it off, but I ended up not blacking out my headlights.

By the way, when you get it off finally, just remember you have to get it back on

Ok guys...well..I did not black out my headlights. Last saturday I figured it out how to take them off tho'. But I was affraid of messing up ..didn't want to open the lenses and wont be able to put them back together correctly and seale them right...so I decided not to do it and ordered the projector ones. So im getting them this friday and a good thing is that I already know how to take of the headlights so I wont have to pay no one for installation...

Actually, if you feel like getting dirty, lay under the car and you'll definitely be able to see it, and its still kinda hard, but it makes it a lot easier to reach in there and grab it. A recommend something the ratchets.

don't be afraid! just make sure you give yourself plenty of time WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS!!! take notes and lots of pics as you remove them and/or put the headlight apart after baking. the pics saved me so i was sure exactly where and how it all went back together.

sounds like you're committed to the aftermarket route though. have fun and let's see some pics when you're done!

Nice! I want to see the ones you got. I did the blackhousing a couple days ago. I like the way they turned out. Next time I wash my car I will take some pictures and put em up here. Thanks guys for all the help

When I did my HID retrofit, I just took off my front bumper. Made it easily accesible to get to the screws/bolts your talking about.

I was able to get to those screws with a ratchet from behind the fender without taking of the bumper. maybe cos my hands are smaller I got to them easier than you guys with those huge hands. But matter of fact mines are not that small ....but they are compairing them to a man.

Im not having a problem with the bolt in the wheel well I can't figure out how to get the front one off anyone have this same problem? It seems overkill to take off the whole bumper for ine bolt .all

There are clips on that black piece, pull it off, and you're gold.

I couldn't figure this out either because you can't tell which way the black molding comes off. I finally discovered it comes off by lifting it straight up. There are a number of brackets holding though. Some of them broke when I removed it.

Wow, I've removed my headlights a lot but never removed that trim piece. I never figured out how it comes off and I didn't want to break anything.
