Headlight replacement

What is the brightest replacement I can use without having to do any conversions. I have a 2000 SR5.

if you have daytime running lights it well kill any bulbs faster most say the sliver stars only last like 6months to a year well i have around 2yrs or so on mine and they work great

i have a yr and a half on mine and i have DRL

search for hellas on ebay. you can get 80W low/100W high. They're not street legal.
All standard bulbs that are DOT approved are around 55W low and 65W high, that's including silverstars.

yeah, piaas are good but i prefer traditional clear bulbs. If I wanted the bluish look, i'd pony up for a true hid system.
Notice how piaa describes their bulbs,
Wattage: 60/55w = 110/100w, 3800K
What a joke. they add each bulbs wattage together to get the higher wattage of the individual hella bulbs. On top of that they can't add
60+60=120 not 110. etc.

I had the hella 80W/100W bulbs in my old celica. Everyone was always flashing me (with their headlights) because they thought my highs were on. I'd give them the return flash and cause some retina damage.

I just got the Hella H4 Xenon Blue bulbs... look great no yellow.. not real blue more or less all white light.. says off road use but they arent blue to the point that the cops will notice or anything... very very bright....

I just got the Hella H4 Xenon Blue bulbs... look great no yellow.. not real blue more or less all white light.. says off road use but they arent blue to the point that the cops will notice or anything... very very bright....

the reason they say for off road use is because the wattage is higher than what dot allows.
Many of the colored lights are dot approved, including silverstars. That's because of the low wattage.
May I also say that those silverstars are very expensive compared to the hellas. And the hellas are available in higher wattage than the silverstars.

I'm a big fan of the Piaa's. I've had both silverstars and Piaa's for side-by-side comparo, and still favor the Piaa's. They are more whitish/slight blue than the silverstars, which look green compared to the piaa's.

Here's a nice comparo I did v.s the stock lights. These are much brighter thank stock and won't hurt any factory wiring.

The Silverstsars are huge improvment over the OEM bulbs. The light is almost totally white. I really like them. I bought them at Advance Auto for $27 per pair.

Yep, anything is better than stock. I just think the piaa's even perform better than the silverstars. Again, both are still better than stock.

Plus I like buying what is readily available on store shelves. I just don't trust packages out on the porch.
