Headlight Retro-Fit/Upgrade

Hey kids,

I cannot stand the headlights on the 5th gen. Why toyota thought a 40k truck needed just halogens is beyond me. Especially one that's meant to navigate treacherous areas. On top of that corollas and tacomas just have better lights. So I've always wanted to modify them. Couple that with how terrible the chrome housings look on cement, with the trd emblems, it's just plain bad.

So i went to my friends at Circuit Demon, and they went to work. I didn't want anything egregious. Just clean, understated, and frankly if the quality id hope for for 45k.

I took a couple quick phone pics. I've got some better shots I gotta get off the camera. But honestly I was just so excited.

They;
-paint matched the housings and blacked the rest. No more chrome.
-upgraded the projectors to bi-xenon
-upgraded high beam to LED
-added LED accents for DRL
-removed ambers.

They could do so much. Etch logos etc. I just wanted what looked like it should belong.

They can do your lamps for you too. Check them out on IG @circuitdemon tell them I sent you.

Very nice and clean! Would be interested if there were any known parts specific for this retrofit or if they sort of made use with what they had custom in-house.

Probably will not do this to mine but you never know depending on cost and lead time without having any headlights in my truck :wow:.

Okay, so nobody has asked yet but I am going to:

What did this cost, out the door? (asking for a friend! :D)
 
Those look pretty sweet! The HID projector retrofits are no doubt an upgrade in performance, but are the LED bulbs in reflector housings really better than 9011 HIR bulbs? (not hating, I'm an LED fan when it's in the right application)
 
retrofitting is definitely the way to go. Waiting for mine to get in in a few weeks. Have HIDS in stock projectors, and they are definitely crap.
 
I think most use the housings out of the IS for the retrofit and the bi-xenons are nice even though most of us rarely use high beams. I wish someone would get bold and do a retrofit for active headlights. I always smile jumping out of the 4Runner and into the BMW when the headlights turn and light the way!

As far as I know they are picking up a set of OEM lights now, you would just offer a core exchange. Or else wait on yours, which all in all took about 3 days for mine, including learning curve.

Depends what you have done, because they can do way more than I needed/wanted. Out the door I paid just shy of 1k. The craftsmanship is what impressed me most.
