Headlight upgrade

I have not used this kit but they say is has the sealant with it gonna try on my is300 & report back . That said I went with depo blacked out on 4r so far so good even after 3 days of rain & worked both 4hi & lo . Just sayin !!!

Polish out the OEM headlights and seal. You may not need to do all the sanding depending on how deteriorated your headlights are. I used a DA polisher on mine with M205 (ultra cut compound), M105 (fine cut) and buffed to a shine.

Here's a good discussion on some different options. I finished mine w/ a polymer coating. Opti-coat is pretty good stuff too.

:thumb3: I can vouch for this, I did this on my G and it never went hazy again. The helmsman clear coat and the mineral spirits did the trick just have to very finely sand away the grossness.

I don't mind the ebay lights hazing over... My biggest concern is do they micro-fracture when they haze that early?

I polished my lenses once already, but I am starting to see small patches of micro-fracturing in the plastic which will only spread over time until the headlights are hazed, cracked, and near useless.

If I'm replacing the headlamps I'm more than likely going to retrofit them for HIDs as well, so my question is; do the ebay ones just haze over or does the actual plastic of the lens degrade. One is just a good polish and strong seal job, the other means I need factory lenses.

for what its worth, ive also found that the cheaper aftermarket lights,( thinner & lighter) are more prone to fracture than the oem when baked to pull apart

Its not too expensive and its a HUGE upgrade for looks if you swap to the 06-09 head lights. Heres before and after:
