Headlight?

I bought a 08 runner today which is a sr5.I was wondering is there a headlight on reminder? Mine doesn't make any noise to let you know the headlights are on after the key is out of the ignition. Thanks

They turn off automatically after a given time after you lock the doors, also if you hit the lock button twice it will turn the lights off.

Incorrect. My 06 does that and turns the lights off at after a given time .

I'm not sure though if it does the same for the dome lights or map lights. Never tried it. My 04 Z71 Tahoe was supposed to do that and I accidently left the dome light on over nite and she was dead in the morning. My friend had to come over and give me a jump on a 2 day old truck...........talk about having your tail between your legs.

If you leave the front map lights on, they turn off after 2 minutes. I once accidently left them on and then experimented to see how they work. I never left my dome lights on though.

Map lights? really? I would never have thought since they seem to be independent lights not connected to the dome lights which turn off after a long period of time if accidentally left on.

The lights turn off automatically on almost ALL current Gen 4Runners because we are all equipped with at least an AUTO OFF feature for the lights. The LTD has the Auto ON/OFF so theirs would turn on when it senses darkeness and would turn off when it senses light OR when left on after turning the car off.
